Kingsley Plantation National Historic Site: Built by Zephaniah Kingsley in 1817 and it now stands as Florida's oldest standing plantation house. Kingsley earned a fortune from slave trading in those days and today this National Historic site organizes a variety of remarkable exhibits and best conserved slave quarters in the country. The slave quarters make a very interesting part of this place, made of "tabby" rock, a mix of oyster shell, sand and cement, the 23 buildings include one that has been fully re-established. You can experience this site for free, there are no admission charges but donations are happily accepted.
Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park: Immerse yourself in the fresh air at this oceanfront park, which comprises a 1.5-mile beach, nature trails, camping grounds, picnic areas, stashed fishing lakes and tranquil beaches. Lifeguards are available all the time so swimming is safe and enjoyable. There are concession stands that offer food and refreshments at affordable rates. There is a lakeside swimming area which has fountains and spurt guns. You can go boating, hiking, biking or canoeing in this tourist place. The lake side tables and grills are a just perfect place to relax whole day. The place, people and fun all are amazing at this oceanfront park.
Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra: Jacksonville has a lot of great orchestra talent hidden in it and Symphony Orchestra has been charming the society with its musical sounds since 1949. This orchestra is locally known as JSO and it executes a number of concert series throughout the season varying from Mahler and Bach to blues and Broadway. Under the leadership of director Fabio Mechetti, the symphony enjoys international acclamation. And many of its shows are held at the Times-Union Center. Metropolitan Park: It is difficult to think of Jacksonville without thinking of this Metropolitan Park. A much–loved river front park that is much more than a park. This park is home to so many festivals like the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, the Independence Day fireworks and various other musical events all through the year. This exquisite park has an exclusive playground for kids, plentiful picnic areas, lush green gardens and a walkway along the river for a picturesque stroll. Anheuser-Busch Brewery: For those who are fond of beer can now see it being processed and bottled for sale in the market at Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Jacksonville. Located close to I-95 on the north side of the city this brewery is quite popular tourist attraction and it allows you to watch the process from a 20-foot open-air observation area. This observation deck only allows visitors above age 21 years, don’t worry if you have bought along kids they can tour the small museum chronicling the history of Busch beer and the Busch family. Brewery tour is free and you can also opt for guided tours which are carried out every hour, but if you are on a self-guided tour, you are welcome at any time of the day.
